Dealing More Effectively with Conflict

Our introductory workshop on managing conflict begins with understanding your own conflict style tendencies and exploring other paths to resolve conflicting positions in the workplace. Using the Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument, we will learn five practical situation-specific styles for approaching conflicting positions, and how to use the more appropriate style in order to gain consensus toward a more fruitful path. Who Should Attend? Business owners, managers, supervisors, and individual contributors looking for tools to approach conflicting positions on issues. Respect in the Workplace – Harassment Prevention Workshop

Harassment Prevention training is required for all California supervisors and managers in firms with 50 or more employees and contractors. The course must be completed within 6 months from hire/promotion and also every two years. This is a fun and fast way to meet the CA state requirements. Meets all requirements of sexual harassment prevention training in AB 1825, and the new California “abusive conduct” topic. Who Should Attend? Managers, supervisors and anyone who is a leader. We’ll cover some of the key principles that leaders use to delegate and thereby develop their team members and allow more time for the “big ticket” issues. (And, yes, this works outside of work as well!) We’ll cover:
- Steps every delegating manager should take to ensure success from the get-go
- Considerations for determining the best delegatee
- Successfully communicating to ensure beautiful completion the first time
- Setting success measurements that allow the delegatee to monitor him/herself
